Route 66 Antique Military Convoy
October 13, 2017 @ 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
You are invited to come out and view this historic event of military vehicles arriving for a brief stop in the city of Victorville. The Military Vehicle Preservation Association (MVPA) will be doing a 2,400-mile convoy from Chicago to LA and will be visiting the California Route 66 Museum. Many of the MVPA members are United States military veterans.
Military vehicles from the convoy will be on display on 6th Street, east of the museum building. The convoy recreates with honor the era in which Route 66 was used to transport military vehicles across the United States. Vehicles that will be involved with the convoy range from World War I to recent times used by the United States.
6th Street will be blocked between D Street and C Street. The public may part on surrounding streets or may enter the museum’s parking lot from 5th Street, through the alley way.
The Military Vehicle Preservation Association (MVPA), is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the public education of historic military transport vehicles.
